Susan Holden is the first female Station Manager to be appointed in over 140 years at Glasgow Central Station, the busiest railway station in Scotland. She was appointed to the role in November 2016 initially for a seconded period but decided to continue in this role permanently which was quite a career change. Susan’s career started off in General Nursing, specialising in Occupational Health in 1992, she continued to work in this field and in various general operational management roles in health until her move into the Rail Industry however she continues to maintain her clinical skills over and above her busy day job. Susan will share her very unusual career journey and her views on success as a woman in the workplace past and present.
