With coronavirus necessitating new ways of working in schools, education professionals are finding themselves in brand new territory.

As a way of providing support during these unprecedented times, we’ve launched Hays Education Virtual Tutoring, our new online tutoring service. Virtual Tutoring takes place via our online tutoring portals, connecting teachers and tutors with pupils across the UK.

"As lockdown started and I was getting my head around lack of contact with people, I never expected that only a few weeks later I would be meeting a whole new team of amazing teacher colleagues and hugely talented professionals! And then, the icing on the cake was that I meet some fantastic children who I am able to teach. It is such a privilege to see how positive the lessons we are providing are for the children. They talk about how lovely it is to learn with other people, how they are enjoying making new friends and how good it is to be listened to and be able to ask questions. On a personal note it's an incredible experience to be part of establishing this project and to learn new ways of teaching and communicating; it's developing my skills and, like the children, it's lovely to be learning alongside others."

"As the schools closed on March 20th, I wondered how and when I'd be teaching again. A school is central to any community and at heart of it are the children. So, when I heard about the project, I really wanted to be part of what has turned out to be an exciting, fun and innovative online school. It's amazing to think that after just one week of IT training, meeting the HR team and planning lessons, here I am working with children from all around the UK. The interaction, the communication has been fabulous and we have learned so many new things together each day. It's truly been good to talk."
